How we help

Our communications advice combines strategic and lateral thinking with persistence and attention to detail. We work to the highest standards.

Our work is tailored to fit the individual needs of each organisation. Some clients like us to act as their in-house public relations resource. Others use us to provide specific services; take on a complete project; or support their in-house team when they are over-stretched.

Corporate communications and reputation management

We help you to raise the profile and reputation of your organisation. We work with you to:

  • develop your communications plan

  • frame your messages for your audiences - customers, investors, suppliers, employees, the media, key commentators and opinion leaders - refreshing and repeating them as needed.

No business is immune from crises but, by planning ahead, you will be better placed to weather any storm. We work with you to draw up a contingency plan and help you implement it if, or when, necessary.

Brand and product marketing material

We devise, prepare and produce high quality material to reinforce the overall communications plan: for example, brochures, newsletters, annual reports, websites, press releases, presentations, speeches, blogs and Twitter feeds.

We help our clients articulate their thinking in simple language, avoiding jargon that confuses rather than clarifies.

High level networking

Business leaders need to meet their potential customers and key commentators in their sector. We have long experience of creating and managing programmes and devising events to help organisations do this. We have secured such high-level speakers as Sir Martin Sorrell, Sir Hector Sants, Lionel Barber, Lord Bell, Lord Coe, Sir Trevor MacDonald, Peter Kellner, Margaret Hodge and Dame Tessa Jowell. We also advise how to build and maintain networks.

Market research and thought leadership

We work with our clients to conduct market research studies in their sectors that both add new insights and are newsworthy. We devise repeatable studies which benchmark and track attitudes over time.

These studies also help to build an organisation’s profile and establish prime position in thought-leadership.

A good example is the ‘DNA of an Entrepreneur’ report that we undertake for small business insurer Hiscox. Read a short case study about this work.

We have also worked very successfully with many organisations to develop serious issues-led campaigns, both to bring about change and to raise their profile.

Media relations

We work with the print, online and broadcast media all the time. We know what is newsworthy and how to present your news in the most effective way. We know journalists and they trust us. And, when you come face-to-face with them, our media training will help you get the very best from each encounter.

We also help clients to capitalise on opportunities to comment on the news agenda.

Social media

In the corporate and financial worlds, organisations interact with social media in different ways. Even if your company is not particularly active, you should be monitoring what journalists and other commentators are saying about you on social media. We can guide you to become more active in this space.

Training

Our media training is interactive, concentrating on role-playing interviews followed by group analysis. We explore issues of genuine relevance to the interviewees. The sessions can be used to rehearse individuals on up-and-coming issues; as part of a crisis preparation programme; or simply to explore general industry matters.

Public speaking can be daunting and these days often entails effective use of PowerPoint. We work through an actual presentation with you. Rather than teaching standard techniques, the training focuses on encouraging you to develop your own natural style.

We run report-writing and letter-writing courses. If writing reports for the board or letters to clients is an important part of your work, then clear, concise language is a ‘must’. We will brush up your sentences - grammar needn’t be scary! - and help you structure your writing to get your message across in the most efficient and effective way.
